Group Counselor
This role involves leading around a group of campers. You will be placed with one or two other counselors and, depending on the size of your group, you will have between 4 and 7 campers. You are responsible for their safety, guiding them between stations, and encouraging them to be engaged and have fun!
Imagination Station
Campers will watch a short video in this station and then complete an “experiment” to follow. You will work with the Imagination Station adult volunteers to help campers with the experiment.
Sports and Games
You will assist the Sports and Games adult volunteers by enthusiastically participating in the portion of the day where campers engage in outdoor games or competitions relating to the lesson.
Arts and Crafts
In this station you will help campers with a daily, creative crafts related to the day's lesson. You will also be responsible for helping the Arts and Craft adult volunteers set up and clean up.
Bible Adventures
You will be performing short skits reenacting Bible stories as told by the adult volunteer.
Snack Prep
This role involves assisting the adult volunteers in setting up the daily snack, distributing them outside in the late morning, and cleaning up.
Babysitting
Babysitter volunteers will be watching any children who are too young to participate in VBS but have a parent volunteering. This role is ideal for counselors who enjoy taking care of children under 4 years old.
Music/Tech/Photography
This is a hybrid role allowing volunteers the flexibility to participate in multiple areas. You could lead the songs and dances at the beginning/end of the morning. You could also work with computers to help set up the audio and video in the morning, and then make the daily wrap up videos. Another opportunity may be to walk around and take candid photos of the campers.
Floater
You will be assigned to a task every morning before the start of the day. Your preference will be taken into account however you will ultimately go where help is needed.
